TENESMUS (Straining at stool)


Merc. Cor: Incessant tenesmus, most distressing.

Aloe S: Tenesmus with uncontrollable desire for stool.

Bell: Urging for stool without result or with scanty stool.

Ignatia: No stool although great tenesmus: rectum protrudes.

Nux Vom: Frequent ineffectual urging.

Podophyllum: Easy protrusion of rectum on straining.

Sulphur: Constant bearing down towards rectum, stools loose, purulent, bloody or constipated, straining before and after stool.
